Bournemouth Air Festival Day 3 & Merchant Navy Day Service - Sailing from Poole

Sunday 3rd September 2017, 10:00 - 19:00

Cruise to see the Bournemouth Air Show – the Shieldhall has the best view of all, anchored offshore between the piers at Bournemouth and Boscombe. We also have an expert aviation commentator on board, offering insights into the planes and activities being staged as part of this spectacular event. Whilst at Anchor, we will remember the lives of Merchant Seamen lost at sea, with a service and wreath laying. Merchant Navy Association members very welcome, though the cruise is open to all.

As part of your cruise, see the impressive engine room with its original steam engines at work and the bridge, with its traditional instruments and gleaming brasswork; admire the ship’s steam assisted steering gear (similar to that used on Titanic); talk to the Captain and our volunteer crew; listen to the informed commentary on the sights and sounds of Poole Harbour (including Brownsea Island and Sandbanks) and The Old Harry Rocks; walk the teak decks; relax in the Saloon with our wide range of refreshments including tea / coffee; real ale; a range of Titanic bottled beers; wine and hot and cold food, available on all trips.

Children will have fun with our interactive Shieldhall Log Book, collecting stickers from various stations on board!

Please note that the ship will be at anchor for a short while during this cruise for an ashes scattering at sea. Click here for more information.
