Steamship Shieldhall is a heritage steamship based in Southampton, from where a series of seasonal sailings take place between May and September every year. Occasional sailings are also made from Poole, Dorset, where Shieldhall has a base during the staging of the annual Poole Harbour Boat Show and Bournemouth Air Festival.
Shieldhall is run by a team of dedicated volunteers, who go out of their way to ensure your experience on board is one to be remembered!
Being constructed in 1955 as a working ship, there is some limited accessibility – this guide summarises accessibility measures introduced onboard and where access limitations exist.
Please get in touch if you require any further information about specific access or if you require additional advice on planning your visit. You are welcome (if notified in advance and with the approval of Associated British Ports) to visit Shieldhall and inspect the facilities first hand. This would likely be on a volunteer day (Wednesdays and Saturdays) or on a scheduled sailing day.
