Where can I park? How much does it cost?
To view all our recommended car parks, please click on "Are you driving by car" link at the top of the page.
Please note that all these car parks are chargeable, and these prices are outside of our control.
Steamship Shieldhall is not liable for any car parking charges or fines so please ensure that you read all the instructions from the car park you are parking your car in.
Can I walk to the ship?
Yes! If you are walking, you can enter through Dock Gate 10. You can also walk through Dock Gate 20 but it's a very long walk! You may be asked to show your Shieldhall e-ticket so please have this to hand ready for the gate security.
Can I drop passengers off to the ship and then park in the car park?
If you wish, you can drive into Dock Gate 10 and drop off passengers near to the berth and then park your car at any of the recommended car parks. By far the closest is the City Cruise Short Stay Car Park near Berth 101, though this car park is the most expensive and is run by Parking Eye Ltd.
Why have these arrangements changed from previous years?
Unfortunately, due to port operations, we are unable to use Berth 48 and the Ocean Gate ABP Head Office car park unlike previous years. For this reason, we have recommended other car parks within the local area. Please refer to the "Are you driving by car" link at the top of this page.
Please note that all these car parks are chargeable.
What time do I need to be onboard the ship?
Passengers may board 1 hour prior to departure but need to be onboard at least 15 minutes before scheduled sailing time.
If you are running late, please ring 07769 114271. Shieldhall will need to leave the berth at its published departure time due to the busy schedules in the port of Southampton.
